BLACK FRIDAY SALES SKIPPED BY MOST NEW JERSEYANS BUT SHOPPERS PREFERRED TO PURCHASE ONLINE, RUTGERS POLL FINDS
‘Tis the season to be shopping, but apparently most New Jerseyans were not in the shopping mood on Black Friday. Fewer than four in 10 residents took advantage of sales and savings on what is supposed to be the busiest shopping day of the year, according to a new RutgersEagleton Poll. Numbers were even weaker for Cyber Monday, as just a quarter of Garden State residents made online purchases on that day.

NEW JERSEYANS SAY GRAND JURY WRONG NOT TO INDICT IN NEW YORK CITY POLICE CHOKING CASE
A clear majority of New Jerseyans say a Staten Island grand jury was wrong in its failure to indict New York City police officer Daniel Pantaleo in the choking death of Eric Garner, according to a new Rutgers-Eagleton Poll. At the same time, residents are significantly more supportive of the non-indictment in the Ferguson, Mo., shooting death of Michael Brown, killed by police officer Darren Wilson.

Most New Jerseyans Support Christie’s Appearance in Storm Ads but Think Commercials’ Creators Chosen for Political Reasons
While state Sen. Barbara Buono continues to criticize Gov. Chris Christie’s involvement with New Jersey’s “Stronger than the Storm” ad campaign, 54 percent of registered voters side with the incumbent, according to a new Rutgers-Eagleton Poll. The majority say Christie’s appearance in the commercials was focused on promoting confidence in the shore’s recovery, while 34 percent say the appearances were mostly about gaining publicity for his re-election campaign. Another 11 percent are unsure.
