In the past eight years, the number of New Jerseyans who feel the state should support the arts has grown. The latest Star-Ledger/Eagleton Poll shows a 10 point increase in the number of state residents who feel that beyond running the government the state should support the arts and try to enrich people's lives.

NEW JERSEYANS AGREE: ABORTION IS A WOMAN’S PRIVATE DECISION, A MAJORITY FAVOR THE 1973 SUPREME COURT DECISION
A large majority of New Jerseyans --80 percent-- believe that the decision to have an abortion is a private matter that should be left up to the woman to decide without government intervention.

NEW JERSEYANS FAVOR MANDATORY PHYSICAL EDUCATION, THINK GYM CLASSES ARE GOOD FOR STUDENTS
Governor Kean’s proposal to do away with mandatory classes in public schools, first floated earlier this year in his State of the State message, does not attract much public support. According to the latest Star-Ledger/Eagleton Poll, the vast majority of New Jerseyans--nearly 8-in-10 they favor the state requirement that public school students attend weekly physical education classes.
