Most New Jerseyans Share Nation’s Gloom on Economy, but Feel Better About Their Own Finances

New Jerseyans view the national economy about as dimly as the rest of the nation, yet they feel notably better about their own financial and job situations, according to the latest Rutgers-Eagleton and SSRS Garden State Panel survey. Questions in this release were fielded by SSRS, a nationally recognized polling and policy research firm based in Glen Mills, Pa., and a partner of the Eagleton Center for Public Interest Polling at Rutgers University-New Brunswick.

New Jersey Voters Say the Spread of Misinformation in the State Is a Big Problem

New Jersey voters consider the spread of false or misleading information a big problem in the state, with a third saying local news in their area has decreased over the past five years, according to a Rutgers-Eagleton Poll. In the poll, commissioned by the New Jersey Civic Information Consortium and conducted by the Eagleton Center for Public Interest Polling, 6 out of 10 say the spread of false or misleading information among New Jerseyans is a “very big problem” (60%). Twenty-two percent say it’s a “moderately big problem,” 11% say it’s a “small problem” and 4% say it is “not a problem.”
