After viewing last Sunday’s inconclusive presidential debate, enough New Jerseyans apparently have decided to stay with what they now have to move the Garden State from the “undecided” to “leans to Bush” column.

Going into tonight’s first presidential debate, New Jersey’s attractive prize of 16 electoral votes is clearly up for grabs. The latest Star-Ledger/Eagleton Poll finds George Bush and Michael Dukakis running neck and neck in the Garden State, with Bush holding a statistically insignificant lead of 47 to 44 percent–well within the poll’s margin of error.
