By a ratio of two to one, registered voters say they support a ban on smoking in restaurants, according to the latest Star-Ledger/Eagleton-Rutgers Poll. But the picture is hazy for proposed bans on smoking in bars and casinos.

FORRESTER NARROWS GAP IN GUBERNATORIAL RACE
Republican Doug Forrester has made significant gains in the race for governor, trailing Democrat Jon Corzine by seven points among likely voters and 10 points among registered voters, according to a Star-Ledger/Eagleton-Rutgers Poll conducted Oct. 3-6. The last Star-Ledger/Eagleton-Rutgers Poll, conducted Sept. 6-9, had Corzine leading Forrester by 18 points among likely voters and 20 points among registered voters.
