VIRTUAL TIE IN U.S. SENATE RACE
With less than six weeks to go before the Nov. 7 midterm election, a new Rutgers- Eagleton Poll finds that the race for the U.S. Senate is a virtual tie, with Democratic incumbent Robert Menendez receiving support from 45 percent of likely voters and State Senator Tom Kean, Jr. backed by 44 percent of likely voters. The one-point difference among the 404 likely voters is well within the margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percent.
