POSITIVITY ABOUT STATE’S DIRECTION CONTINUES TO GROW UNDER MURPHY ADMINISTRATION; GOV. STARTS OUT SOLID, BOOKER CONTINUES TO SHINE AS MENENDEZ’S RATINGS REMAIN STEADY
With the Murphy administration well underway, New Jerseyans are now split over the direction of the state, as more feel better than they have in recent years about where New Jersey is headed. Gov. Phil Murphy himself remains an unknown to a sizeable segment of the public, but initial impressions of the job he is doing are positive

FINAL GRADES: CHRIS CHRISTIE EXITS AS MOST UNPOPULAR NJ GOVERNOR ON RECORD
It’s hard to imagine exactly who New Jersey’s pugnacious governor thinks is going to miss him when he leaves office next week, but it surely won’t be the residents of the Garden State, according to the latest Rutgers-Eagleton Poll. When asked late last November about the end of Christie’s tenure, just 5 percent of residents said they are going to miss Christie when he’s gone – only about 350,000 out of the approximately 7 million adults who live in the Garden State. The senior senator is now at a low point in his ratings: more New Jersey residents disapprove than approve of his job performance (36 percent to 29 percent), and more have an unfavorable than favorable impression of him (33 percent to 20 percent), following the trial.

THREE-QUARTERS SAY GARDEN STATE OFF ON THE WRONG TRACK; NEW LOWS FOR CHRISTIE, MIXED VIEWS ON MENENDEZ, AND GOV CANDIDATES REMAIN UNKOWN
New Jersey is one unhappy state, according to the latest Rutgers-Eagleton Poll. Fewer than one in five registered voters think their state is going in the right direction, while almost three-quarters think it is off on the wrong track; another one in 10 is unsure. Part of that dissatisfaction is based upon state and national leadership. Just 16 percent have a favorable opinion of Gov. Chris Christie; the same number approves of the job he is doing as governor. Both ratings mark new all-time lows for the Governor.
