CHRISTIE’S NJ RATINGS HIT NEW ALL-TIME LOWS POST-TRUMP SUPPORT, BUT VOTERS CITE GOV.’S ATTITUDE, GOVERNING, AND DISHONESTY AS MAIN REASONS
As Gov. Chris Christie’s top pick for president continues to climb in the polls, the governor’s own ratings have dropped to their lowest yet, according to the latest Rutgers-Eagleton Poll. Just 26 percent of New Jersey registered voters now have a favorable opinion of Christie – down three points since February. Sixty-four percent are unfavorable toward the governor, up five points since February and now at its highest point yet since Christie first took office.

CLINTON MAINTAINS DOUBLE-DIGIT LEAD OVER CHRISTIE IN NEW JERSEY
In a hypothetical 2016 head-to-head matchup between Gov. Chris Christie and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, New Jersey voters continue to give Clinton a double-digit lead, according to the latest Rutgers-Eagleton Poll. Forty-nine percent of registered voters say they would support Clinton over Christie, while 39 percent back Christie. The gap between the two has remained around 10 points through much of the past year.

The Democrats are indeed in much better shape to win the Senate election with former Senator Frank Lautenberg having replaced current Senator Bob Torricelli on the ticket. A Star- Ledger/Eagleton-Rutgers poll concluded Sunday night shows Lautenberg leading Republican Douglas Forrester by a margin of 6 percentage points among potential voters, 46 to 40, with the remainder undecided.
