The Eagleton Center for Public Interest Polling (ECPIP), also known as the Eagleton Poll, was established in 1971 with the primary mission of serving the state of New Jersey. One of the oldest and most respected academically-based state survey research organizations in the country, ECPIP continues to focus its efforts on questions and issues that matter most to policymakers, scholars, and the public. The Center provides survey research services to national and state governmental agencies, nonprofit organizations, and academic clients.
One of ECPIP’s most visible activities is its statewide public opinion poll, which has served as the “poll of record” for New Jersey since 1971. The Rutgers-Eagleton Poll’s time series of data, reporting attitudes about candidates, politics, public policy, the economy, and social trends in more than 160 surveys, is archived and publicly accessible here.
