VOTERS LEAN DEMOCRATIC IN LOW INTEREST ELECTION

With no statewide office on the ballot and with no dominant issue, Tuesday’s election for New Jersey Senate and Assembly seats has aroused little interest among the New Jersey electorate. Of those planning to go to the polls, however, the Star-Ledger/Eagleton Poll has found that more voters favor Democratic than Republican candidates, While Governor Kean is well regarded in the state and has been campaigning for Republican candidates, it does not appear that he will have long coattails in this election, although many voters were still undecided when the survey was taken in late October.
