THE SENATORIAL ELECTION, PART II: PROPOSITION 13 POPULAR BUT HAS LIMITED IMPACT ON ELECTION

While there is some support for a large tax cut such as California’s Proposition 13 here in New Jersey, the state’s registered voters are more concerned with inflation and economic conditions, according to the latest Eaqleton Poll. The Rutgers based survey also found that support for a tax cut drops substantially if it were to mean a reduction in jobs and services. The Poll, conducted during the last two weeks of September,also finds little agreement among registered voters about which of the two candidates for Senate—Democrat Bill Bradley or Republican Jeff Bell would best be able to handle a variety of domestic and economic issues.
