THE GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION, PART 1: NEW JERSEYANS UNPREPARED FOR ELECTION; FLORIO STARTS WITH BIGGER BASE THAN KEAN

New Jersey voters are not yet ready for the Gubernatorial election. An Eagleton survey conducted between September 15 and 27 found that only half of 840 registered voters sampled could name candidates Tom Kean and Jim Florio. Only 1 in 4 said they felt able to cast an informed vote, and only 1 in 20 felt they knew a good deal about either Florio or Kean.
