One in four New Jerseyans rate the job he is doing as “excellent or “good”

Less than one year after President Nixon’s landslide victory, barely one in four New Jerseyans rate the job he is doing as “excellent or “good”. In a poll taken by the Eagleton Institute of Rutgers University, before Nixon had fired special Watergate prosecutor Archibald Cox, and Elliot Richardson had resigned as Attorney General, Nixon was given an “excellent” or “good” job rating by only 27% of those questioned as compared to 70% replying “fair” or “poor,” with the remaining 3% undecided.
