New Jerseyans would opt for a plan which includes a state income tax

If New Jerseyans had to choose a way of solving the state’s budget crisis they would opt for a plan which includes a state income tax. The New Jersey Poll, conducted by the Eagleton Institute of Rutgers University, asked a statewide sample of over 1000 residents about five proposals to bridge the over $400 million deficit in the state budget projected by Governor Byrne.
