NEW JERSEYANS SKEPTICISM ABOUT STATE GOVERNMENT UNCHANGED; ABSCAM HAS LITTLE EFFECT

Despite leaks from the FBI ABSCAM investigation suggesting that some New Jersey politicians may have been involved in wrongdoing, New Jerseyans feelings about the honesty of their public officials and corruption in state government have changed little over the past three years. The latest Eagleton Poll, conducted in February shortly after the ABSCAM revelations were made public, also found that confidence in state government had declined slightly over the past two years.
