NEW JERSEYANS SUPPORT DRAFT REGISTRATION OF MEN BUT DIVIDED OVER INCLUDING WOMEN

New Jerseyans favor requiring registration of young men for possible military service but are evenly divided on whether draft registration should also apply to women. If women were to be included in a draft, most of those questioned in the latest Eagleton Poll felt they should be assigned only to non-combat roles. Women and young people were least supportive of drafting either men or women or giving women combat roles.
