New Jerseyans have high hopes for Jimmy Carter’s four-year term as President, according to the latest Eagleton Poll. This statewide survey, conducted during the second week of Carter’s term, found that over two-thirds–68 percent–of New Jersey’s voters give Carter positive marks of either “excellent” or “good” when asked to evaluate the job they think he will do as President. Only 23 percent give him a negative rating of either “only fair” or “poor,” while the remaining 10 percent are undecided.
