NEW JERSEYANS FAVOR STATEWIDE STORE OPENINGS ON SUNDAYS

Most New Jerseyans agree with voters in Middlesex, Monmouth and Union Counties — they do not support the “blue laws” which require most retail stores to remain closed on Sundays in seven counties. Voters in these three counties repealed the blue laws in the election earlier this month. The latest Eagleton Poll, conducted the last two weeks of October found 69 percent of New Jerseyans agreed that stores should be allowed “to be open on Sundays throughout the state,” while 26 percent disagreed and five percent offered no opinion.
