NEW JERSEYANS FAVOR MADATORY PHYSICAL EDUCATION, THINK GYM CLASSES ARE GOOD FOR STUDENTS

Governor Kean’s proposal to do away with mandatory gym classes in public schools, first floated earlier this year in his State of the State message, does not attract much public support. According to the latest Star-Ledger/Eagleton Poll, the vast majority of New Jerseyans–nearly 8-in- 10–say they favor the state requirement that public school students attend weekly physical education classes.
