NEW JERSEYANS’ CONFIDENCE IN ORGANIZATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS: THE SAME OR GETTING BETTER

Garden State residents’ confidence in various institutions and organizations has remained stable or increased in the past four years. A statewide sample of New Jersey residents was asked by the Eagleton Institute of Rutgers University whether they had “a lot”,”some” or “not very much confidence” in eleven different organizations and institutions. Public confidence in the federal government, the mass media, large corporations, and educational institutions increased, while confidence in state and local government, state political parties and labor unions remained steady over the past 4 years.
