Abbott District Kindergarten Educational Needs Assessment (1999-2001) Rutgers Center for Early Childhood Education Eagleton contacted mothers/parents of kindergarten students in 14 Abbott School Districts including Newark, Jersey City, and Elizabeth. Over 1,000 20-minute telephone interviews were conducted to assess the readiness of kindergarten students and to profile their early childhood education and child care experiences prior to attending kindergarten. Abbott District Educational Needs Assessment of 3 and 4 Year Olds (1998-1999) Rutgers Center for Early Childhood Education Eagleton contacted mothers/parents in households with 3 and 4 year olds in 23 Abbott School Districts. A total of 3,589 telephone interviews were conducted to assess the educational needs of 3 and 4 year olds and to profile their early childhood education and child care experiences.
