Eagleton developed and implemented the methodology for surveying different groups of part-time college students in the state, including current and former students of 4-year and 2-year colleges. Read more here.




Bergen County Youth Health Assessment (1999)

Bergen County Partnership for Community Health
Eagleton assisted with the development and analysis of a survey of 2,296 students in grades 7 through 12 on their health behaviors and social needs.




New Jersey Opinions on School Revenue Proposals (1999)

New Jersey School Boards Association
A telephone survey of 800 adults on awareness and attitudes towards local property taxes, and opinions on specific proposals to balance state and local revenue sources for New Jersey schools. Read more here.




Abbott District Kindergarten Educational Needs Assessment (1999-2001)

Rutgers Center for Early Childhood Education
Eagleton contacted mothers/parents of kindergarten students in 14 Abbott School Districts including Newark, Jersey City, and Elizabeth. Over 1,000 20-minute telephone interviews were conducted to assess the readiness of kindergarten students and to profile their early childhood education and child care experiences prior to attending kindergarten.




Abbott District Educational Needs Assessment of 3 and 4 Year Olds (1998-1999)

Rutgers Center for Early Childhood Education
Eagleton contacted mothers/parents in households with 3 and 4 year olds in 23 Abbott School Districts. A total of 3,589 telephone interviews were conducted to assess the educational needs of 3 and 4 year olds and to profile their early childhood education and child care experiences.




FANS Awareness Survey (1998, 2000)

Families Achieving the New Standards in Math, Science, and Technology
This longitudinal study employed telephone surveys of 800 New Jersey adults (including a sub-sample of parents of school-age children) to assess knowledge and use of New Jersey’s new math and science standards.



New Jerseyans’ Attitudes Toward County Colleges (1996, 2000)
New Jersey Council of County Colleges
This telephone survey of 806 New Jerseyans focused on attitudes toward and experiences with New Jersey’s county colleges. The survey was repeated in 2000.


Higher Education Master Plan Validation of Critical Issues (1995)
New Jersey Commission on Higher Education
this study involved a series of focus groups with community decision makers and leaders from government, business, education, and other fields. The purpose was to assess and validate critical issues in higher education identified by the Master Plan Steering Committee.


Enhancing the Connection Between Higher Education and the Workplace (1995)
New Jersey Business-Higher Education Forum
This study involved exploratory focus groups with employers in the state leading to a statewide survey of 404 New Jersey employers. The study assessed employers’ perspectives on the workplace readiness of college graduates, including interpersonal skills, motivation, communication, and the ability to work with new technologies.


New Brunswick Public School System Planning Study (1994)
New Brunswick Tomorrow and the New Brunswick Board of Education
This study included surveys of 307 teachers, 347 parents, and 228 high school students to assess the image of the city’s education system. Issues included assessments of current and potential curricula and accessibility of school programs. Read more here.


Franklin Township Magnet Schools Program Assessment (1994)
Franklin Township Board of Education
A sample of 264 teachers and 349 parents was surveyed to assess perceived strengths and weaknesses in the Township’s magnet school curriculum and to evaluate community resources available to support the program.


Highland Park Schools Planning Survey (1994)
Highland Park Board of Education
This study involved two focus groups and a mail survey of 300 borough residents to assess support for new resources for the school system.


Youth Risk Behavior Study (1993,1995, 1997, 1999)
New Jersey Department of Education
This is a bi-annual study of approximately 3,500 high school students in New Jersey. Study objectives are to determining the prevalence of risk behavior in various areas -- including drug and alcohol usage, physical fighting, use of weapons and fear, vehicle safety and suicide. Read more here.


New Jersey Vocational Education Assessment (1993)
New Jersey Department of Education
This study involved a survey of a combined 738 employees, parents, and students of vocational education schools in the state. The objective of the study was to assess the quality of New Jersey’s vocational education system.


Statewide Survey on Higher Education Issues (1993)
New Jersey Department of Higher Education
This survey of 800 New Jersey residents assessed awareness and concerns about a number of issues affecting higher education in the state.


The Quality of College Life in New Jersey (1993)
New Jersey Department of Higher Education
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of student life on the quality of a person’s educational experience. This included assessments of institutional image, costs, safety, academics, student/faculty interaction, and student services. The study surveyed 1,075 students and 586 alumni from 41 private and public colleges across the state of New Jersey.
