Democrats now outnumber Republicans in New Jersey by more than two to one

Democrats now outnumber Republicans in New Jersey by more than two to one. When the New Jersey Poll recently asked a cross—section of the state’s residents their party affiliation, 34 percent said they were Democrats while only 16 percent declared they were Republicans. An even larger 43 percent identified themselves as independents.
