DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES WELL KNOWN; KENNEDY’S IMAGE MOST FAVORABLE

While all three of the Democratic candidates for their party’s nomination — Jerry Brown, Jimmy Carter, and Edward Kennedy – have every high recognition levels among New Jerseyans, only Kennedy has a clearly positive image. The latest Eagleton Poll, conducted during the last two weeks of October before Kennedy and Brown had formally declared their candidacies, found that virtually all New Jersey residents at least recognized President Carter and Senator Kennedy and 82 percent recognized Governor Brown.
