CARTER RATING DROPS SLIGHTLY DESPITE HIGHER MARKS ON MIDDLE EAST

Despite higher ratings for his handling of the nation’s foreign policy since the conclusion of the Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty, President Carter’s overall job rating has continued to decline. According to the latest Eagle.ton Poll, conducted earlier this month, only 34 percent of New Jerseyans gave Carter positive job ratings of “excellent” or “good,” as compared to 66 percent who gave him negative ratings of “only fair” or “poor.”
