Both Governor Brendan T. Byrne and the State Legislature continue to beheld in low esteem by the citizens of New Jersey. The latest Eagleton Poll, conducted during the last week in January, found that only 22 percent of those asked to rate the Governor’s performance gave Byrne a positive rating of “excellent” or “good,” while 72 percent gave him a negative rating of “only fair” or “poor.” The remaining 6 percent were undecided,
