ATLANTIC CITY, THE MEADOWLANDS, AND THE SHORE: THREE PROMINENT FEATURES BEHIND NEW JERSEY’S CHANGING IMAGE

The First report From the 19814 New Jersey Images study, released last week by Rutgers Eagleton Institute, showed positive ratings of the state as an “excellent” or “good” place to live having increased from 62 to 80 percent between 1977 and 1984. The second report released today, looks at the contribution made to the growth of state identity and pride by three of the state’s most prominent features: casino gambling in Atlantic City, the Meadowlands and the Jersey shore.
