NEW JERSEYANS NARROWLY OPPOSE PANAMA CANAL TREATY; CARTER RATING DROPS SHARPLY

More New Jerseyans disapprove of the Panama Canal treaties than approve of them — and there is more bad news for President Carter. Carter’s popularity has slipped sharply in the past four months, according to a poll conducted in February by the Eagleton Institute of Rutgers University.
